AIMS OF THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE BLACK ARROW
1. To provide fellowship and communication for members of Scout, Guard, Guide and Adventure Corps units of The Salvation Army.
2. To develop leadership for Salvation Army units in Scouts, Cubs, Guards, Sunbeams, Guides and Adventure Corps as well as support Divisional & Territorial activities and camping experiences.
3. To encourage members to develop mentally, physically and spiritually to bring honor to Jesus Christ and share the good news of His love and grace to others.

In the Middle Ages, English knights lived by the Code Of Chivalry.
Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouting movement, cited this code for his 1908 book, "Scouting For Boys By B-P":
Be Always Ready, with your armour on, except when you are taking your rest at night.
Defend the poor, and help them that cannot defend themselves.
Do nothing to hurt or offend anyone else.
Be prepared to fight in defence of your country.
At whatever you are working, try to win honour and a name for honesty.
Never break a promise.
Maintain the honour of your country with your life.
Rather die honest than live shamelessly.
Chivalry requireth that youth should be trained to perform the most laborious and humble offices with cheerfulness and grace; and to do good unto others.

And the arrow is the cross
As we set out on this journey
Let's obey the call from the heart of God
Let us love at any cost
